Are you struggling in some way? Is some area of your life not going well?

If so, psychotherapy may help. The type of therapy I practice is called psychoanalytic psychotherapy and it is a style of therapy that entails listening in depth. As I listen to you in depth over time, you will become better at listening to and noticing yourself in ways that allow you to make needed changes in how you go about your day to day life.

Most therapy that is offered is not intended to work at a deep enough level to change long-standing patterns of behavior. It may be presented as such but significant positive changes in how you relate to others and the world around you take both time and depth of work. An apt metaphor for psychoanalytic psychotherapy is that it is not simply giving you a fish but rather teaching you how to fish (so you can feed yourself).
